SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Head Coach Clay White announced today that recruits Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) and Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Seton Hall University and play men's golf at the start of the 2015-16 academic year.
"I'm very pleased to welcome both Gen and Chris to the Seton Hall family," White said. "Both will bring depth to our squad and vie for the starting lineup. Their addition make us a stronger, more balanced golf team."
Originally from Japan, Nagai lives close to future teammate Lloyd Jefferson Go, who is also a native of the Philippines. He won the 2014 Philippine Junior Amateur Championship and the JGFP Visayas Interscholastic Championship in 2013. Most recently, used a third round, 68, to repeat as the champion of the Alta Vista Challenge in October.
A three-time All-State performer, Yeom has registered four American Junior Golf Association Top-10 finishes, including a third place finish at The ALGA at Killington. Earlier this year, he qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. In 2013, Yeom qualified for the U.S. Public Links, and in 2012, he qualified for the Junior PGA Championship.
Seton Hall will return to the link this spring with the MAC Match Play event on February 9 at Lake Jovita Country Club in Tampa, Fla.
