HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will complete the 2014 fall season with two rounds of golf at the Temple Invitational this weekend.
The Temple Invitational is being played at the 6,670-yard par 70 North Course at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. The two-day event, which will take place this Saturday, October 11th to Sunday, October 12th, will include 13 teams from various conferences.
Philmont's North Course has hosted many prestigious events including the Nike Tour (now the Web.com Tour) in the mid-90s and local qualifiers for the US Open and US Amateur. It is a true classic with tree lined fairways and firm, fast greens.
Besides Temple and Seton Hall, schools competing in the Invitational include: Binghamton, Brown, Cornell, Drexel, Fordham, Hartford, La Salle, Penn, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph's.
Seton Hall is coming off a sixth place finish among 18 teams at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate earlier this week. Junior Ryan Snouffer (Sparta, N.J.) registered his third, top-10 finish of the fall season. Fresh off his team-leading fifth sub-par round on Monday, Snouffer fired an even-par, 71, in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for eighth place among 93 individual golfers. The Pirate newcomer finished the three-round event at even-par with a 74-68-71-213. Collectively, the Pirates finished sixth with a 25-over-par, 300-282-295-877.
Sophomore Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) finished at 3-over-par with a 70-71-75-216, to tie for 15th overall.
This week, head coach Clay White will bring Snouffer, Go, JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.), Kevin O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.) and Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) to the Temple Invitational. Kevin Sanislo (Whippany, N.J.) will also make the trip and compete as an individual.
The field will play 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday. Complete results of each day's events will be available at SHUpirates.com.
