SOUTH KENT, CONN. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to the links this Monday for three rounds of golf as part of the 2013 Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Club.
This is the second straight year that the Pirates have participated in the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Last fall, Seton Hall finished tied for 11th with a 61-over-par, 309-301-315-925. Hartford won the tournament at 11-over-par. Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.) was the top individual finisher for the Pirates. He was 12-over-par with a 77-74-77-228, and tied for 27th among all individual golfers.
Seton Hall is coming off an 11th place finish at The Doc Gimmler last weekend. Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) became only the 14th player in Seton Hall men's golf history to shoot under par for a tournament. The freshman finished the event at 1-under-par and tied for 10th place among 76 individual golfers.
Despite the 11th place finish, the team performance was historic for the Pirates. Seton Hall's three-round total of 862 is the second-best par-70 performance in Pirates' history. Furthermore, their second round score of 280 is the lowest single-round score on a par-70 course ever for a Seton Hall foursome.
