REUNION, FLA. – The Seton Hall men’s golf team fired a 305 in Tuesday’s final round of the 2013 BIG EAST Championship and finished the three-day tournament in 12
th place. Freshman
David Cha (Carrollton, Texas) shot a 1-over-par, 73, and
Marc Kunesch (Newton, N.J.) had a 2-over-par, 74, to lead the Pirates in round three. Collectively, the Pirates shaved five strokes off their second round score with a third round 305. Seton Hall finished the three-round event with a 64-over-par, 313-310-305-928. They finished 70 strokes behind the team champion, USF, which was 6-under-par. While most of the Pirates had either very good rounds or poor rounds,
JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.) played consistent golf throughout the tournament. The sophomore finished the event as the Pirates’ leader, tying for 48
th place overall with a 16-over-par, 78-77-77-232. David Tepe of Cincinnati won the individual title with an 8-under-par score.
Cha, Kunesch and freshman Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) all finished tied at 19-over-par. Cha finished with an 82-80-73-235, Kunesch had a 77-84-74-235, while Wilson checked in with an 82-72-81-235.
Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland) finished with a 24-over-par, 76-81-83-240.
The BIG EAST Championship concludes the 2013 spring season for the Seton Hall men’s golf team.
