Pirates Begin Play at Nittany Lion Invitational, Monday

STATE COLLEGE, PA. - The Seton Hall women's golf team will open the 2026 fall season with three rounds of golf at the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State University, Sept. 7-8.

The relaxing atmosphere continues right off the greens and into the Walker Clubhouse. In this 6,000 sq. ft. facility you'll find a complete Golf Shop filled with the latest in quality golf equipment and merchandise. Let our golf professionals share with you their expertise and answer any of your questions. Next to the Golf Shop is The Nineteenth Hole Cafe. This snack area offers a variety of food and snacks for a quick bite or a relaxing meal. The Cafe's open dining area overlooks the courses and provides the perfect compliments to a round of golf.

THE FIELD
In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Akron, Bucknell, Delaware, Duquesne, Harvard, James Madison, Lehigh, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Towson, Virginia Tech, Yale and Youngstown State.

THE FORMAT
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

LAST TIME AT PENN STATE:
Junior Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) shot a 4-over-par, 76, in the final round to lead the Seton Hall women's golf team at the Nittany Lion Invitational in last year's event. Rane had two birdies and 10 pars to fuel her team-best final round. For the tournament, she tied for 41st place with a 13-over-par, 81-72-76-229. Yale's Mia Sessa won the individual title at 5-under-par.

As a team, The Hall turned in its best collective round of the tournament on in round three. The Pirates shot a 19-over-par, 307, in round three. For the two-day event, Seton Hall placed 16th with a 74-over-par, 318-313-307-938. Host Penn State won the team title at 14-over-par. BIG EAST competitors Georgetown and St. John's finished at 50-over-par and 61-over-par respectively.

SCHEDULE
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Tuesday. Tuesday's shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m.
