Seton Hall Opens BIG EAST Championship, Saturday
4/24/2026 10:00:00 AM | Women's Golf
OKATIE, S.C. – The Seton Hall women's golf team will look for its first BIG EAST Championship since 2016 when it heads to Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C. for three rounds of golf this weekend.
Â
The Pirates enter the 2026 BIG EAST Championship as the No. 6 seed in the field of seven conference schools. The Hall averaged 311.23 strokes per round during the 2025-26 academic year, but has performed better this spring, posting a seventh-place finish at the Space Coast Classic, and most recently, a fifth-place finish at the Rutgers Invitational.
Â
Individually, Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) continued her assault on the Seton Hall record books this year. The sophomore has been named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week three times this year and won two individual titles giving her four for her career, which is two more than any other women's golfer in school history. Her 73.79 scoring average this year is on pace to be the lowest for a single-year in Seton Hall history.
Â
Make no mistake, Aguilar has a legitimate chance to become the program's first-ever BIG EAST individual champion.
Â
Seton Hall won the team BIG EAST title three consecutive years from 2014 through 2016.
