"The girls played well for their first outdoor match this spring," said Seton Hall head coach James Enzler. "I saw a lot of good things today. We had opportunities in doubles that we just didn't capitalize on and that's what hurt us in the long run. We're going to make sure we work on those things tomorrow before our next pair of matches here [in California]."
The match ended up being razor thin close as doubles came down to a tiebreak at No. 3 after Isabelle May and Kira Farrakhova were victorious at No. 2. After UC Riverside won the tiebreaker to take the doubles point, it also secured singles wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 4.
Davidson and Sereda were straight sets winners at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively, and Ellie Coe bounced back from a first-set loss to defeat Juliana Galindo at No. 6.Â
For Davidson, it was her 14th singles win of the year, fourth in spring duals. Sereda improved to 4-6 in spring duals and has now won three matches in a row. Coe won her 13th singles match of the year, fourth in spring duals as well.
Seton Hall will continue its spring break tour of the Big West Conference with a Wednesday match against Long Beach State in Long Beach, Calif.Â
