New Providence, N.J. - Tamsin Hart won her first BIG EAST singles match of the season, but it ended up being the only point Seton Hall women's tennis scored in a 6-1 loss to St. John's Saturday night at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness.
It was Hart's seventh spring singles victory, and it came in the No. 4 position.
"The girls fought hard today, and we continued to bring good energy, which is what we're looking for," said head coach James Enzler. "The match was much closer than the score showed, but my hats off to Lauren at St. John's. Her team this year is incredibly scrappy and use a variety of tactics to be successful. We need to continue to work on adapting our game and not becoming a one-trick pony as often. We just have to stay present and work on the things that we can control this week to get ready for a pair of home matches next weekend."
Hart defeated Charlotta Buss in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, to notch her first conference win in four tries.
Seton Hall will host a pair of matches next weekend, taking on LIU Friday and Providence on Saturday.
