West Orange, N.J. -Â The Seton Hall women's tennis team lost a 4-0 decision to DePaul Saturday at the tennis courts on the Seton Hall Prep campus, the final home match for the Pirates this season.
"It was a tough loss today against a very talented team, " said Seton Hall head coach James Enzler. "We had a lot of deuce points that just didn't go our way. They [DePaul] came in and played fearless from start to finish, so my hats off to them."
DePaul swept doubles and then got singles wins at No. 1, 4 and 5 to clinch victory. If not for playing clinch, the Pirates could have gotten on the board at No. 3; Aina Plana Ventosa was one game away from reaching a third set against Greta Carbone.
The Pirates will wrap up the regular season next week with a Tuesday match at Villanova and a Friday match at UConn. The BIG EAST Tournament will take place April 18-21.
