Plana Ventosa and Sereda Represent Pirates at ITA Regionals

New York, N.Y. - Seton Hall tennis graduate student Aina Plana Ventosa and freshman Anastasia Sereda qualified for the ITA Regionals, representing the Pirates this weekend at the Milstein Family Tennis Center hosted by Columbia University in Upper Manhattan.
In an incredible coincidence, Sereda drew Pirates alumna Arina Gumerova '23, who just earned her degree at Seton Hall and is using her final year of eligibility to compete for St. John's. Gumerova, who was Seton Hall's No. 1 singles player for three seasons, defeated Sereda, 6-3, 6-3.
Sereda and Plana Ventosa gave great effort in their doubles match, but fell to a pair from Penn.
This weekend completes the fall season, and the Pirates are now looking towards the spring when they will compete for the BIG EAST Championship. The regular season begins Feb. 2 against Hofstra at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness in New Providence, N.J.
