
Fifty Student-Athletes Inducted Into 2022 Chi Alpha Sigma Class

South Orange, N.J. – A total of 50 Seton Hall University student-athletes were inducted into the 2022 class of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, the athletics department announced Wednesday. Inductees were honored in an early-morning ceremony at the Seton Hall University Library's Rotunda Room on April 21, 2022.
The 2022 group of honorees joins over 370 Seton Hall student-athletes who have been inducted into the prestigious group since 2011. Founded in 1996 by Nick Mourouzis, a long-time football head coach at DePauw University, the non-profit organization was established to recognize varsity letter winning college athletes at four-year accredited college and universities.

In order to earn this distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 with at least junior academic standing and be of exceptional moral character.
As stated by the organization, its purposes are to:

A perennial leader in academic success among its peers, Seton Hall's continued excellence in the classroom is evidenced by the department's commitment to resources as well as the student-athletes' commitment to furthering their education. The Hall's Charles W. Doehler Academic Center for Excellence with its main study area, group meeting spaces and private tutoring rooms, along with the outstanding mentoring and tutoring services provided by the Academic Support Services staff help provide student-athletes with an incredible learning experience.
At the end of the Fall 2021 semester, Seton Hall student-athletes collectively held a 3.498 cumulative grade point average and have set department records for GPA highs in each of the last 11 years.
