
Bechadergue Paces Pirates at Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, FLA. – Graduate student Margot Bechadergue (Aix-En-Provence, France) finished at 2-over-par to pace the Seton Hall women's golf team to a 15th place finish at the highly-competitive 2022 FAU Paradise Invitational on Tuesday.

Bechadergue used an impressive 3-under-par, 69, in the second round to fuel her 2-over-par tournament finish. Overall, she tied for 35th place among 78 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 74-69-75-218. Mississippi State's Julia Lopez Ramirez won the individual title at a remarkable 16-under-par.

Collectively, Seton Hall finished in 15th place with a 26-over-par, 296-294-300-890, just one stroke behind Loyola. No other BIG EAST Conference schools were in the field.

Senior Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) used 15 pars to power a 1-over-par, 73, in Tuesday's final round. For the tournament, she tied for 50th with a 6-over-par, 73-76-73-222. Only two strokes behind Fouratt, sophomore Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) finished her tournament with an 8-over-par, 73-74-77-224.

Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) shaved two strokes off her second-round score in round three with a 3-over-par, 75. For the two-day event, she registered a 12-over-par, 76-77-75-228.

Freshman Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) rounded out the Pirates' scoring for the first tournament of the spring. She logged a 15-over-par, 78-75-78-231.

Having received numerous awards since its opening in 2010, Osprey Point Golf Course is one of the top public golf courses in Florida. Featuring 27 holes spread out in three nine-hole courses, Osprey Point provides a serene setting with a Platinum Paspalum turf, which presents a lush playing surface from tee to green.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Florida Atlantic, the field was comprised of 13 other teams including: Arkansas State, Colorado State, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, James Madison, Loyola-Chicago, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Florida, South Florida, USTA, Vanderbilt.

Teams played five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
