
Plana Ventosa Wins Singles Match in The Hall's Visit to UConn

Manchester, Conn. - Junior Aina Plana Ventosa earned a straight sets win at No. 3 singles to highlight the Seton Hall women's tennis team's visit to UConn as the Pirates lost the match, 6-1, Sunday at the Magic Lincer Tennis Club.
Facing off against Aleksandra Karamyshev, Plana Ventosa recorded a 6-0 shutout in the first set and then won the second set, 7-5, to pick up her third singles win of the spring and 10th overall.
While that was the only singles win, two other Pirates did push the Huskies to a third set.
Although Seton Hall also lost the doubles point, the Pirates saw another strong performance from junior Arina Gumerova and freshman Arabella Moen, who won at No. 1, 6-2, to improve to 6-1 as a tandem on the spring.
The Pirates will make the short trip down the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday, March 4 to take on Rutgers.
