
Pirates Dominate Singles Competition in Road Win at Monmouth

Little Silver, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team swept all six singles matches en route to a 6-1 win over Monmouth, Saturday afternoon at Little Silver Tennis Club.
The tandem of junior Arina Gumerova and freshman Arabella Moen enjoyed great success again. First, they paired up in doubles and dispatched Nicole Gasser and Lenien Jamir, 6-1, for their fifth doubles win together in their last six matches. Then at the top of the singles lineup, Gumerova made quick work of Gasser at No. 1, 6-2, 6-2, and Moen cruised at No. 2 over Zoe Klapman, 6-3, 6-0. Moen now has singles wins in five of her last six matches.
Junior Hiba El Khalifi remained unbeaten in spring singles, improving to 3-0 after a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ann Spurka at No. 3. Freshman Hili Kronzon has now won three singles matches in a row after taking down Madison Mills at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2.
Sophomore Oliwia Kempinski cruised past Jamir at No. 5, 6-4, 6-1, and sophomore Emily O'Donovan picked up a 6-3, 7-6 win over Lauren Landstrom at No. 6.Â
Seton Hall, which has now won five of its last six matches, is headed on a tour of New England next weekend, starting off with a Friday match at Providence, slated for 1 p.m.
