
Busetto Lifts Pirates to Fifth Place Finish at Delaware

Busetto collects her third career top-10 finish after tying for eighth in Delaware.
REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) fired an even-par, 72, on Sunday to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the 2022 Battle at the Beach, hosted by the University of Delaware.

Busetto put the finishing touches on her best tournament of the year using three birdies and 12 pars to in route to an even-par, 72. For the tournament, she tied for eighth with a 6-over-par, 71-79-72-222. It's Busetto's third career top-10 finish and her first this season.

Dartmouth's Sophie Thai ran away with the individual title at 6-under-par.

As a team, the Pirates completed their top round of the tournament on Sunday, an 8-over-par, 296. For the two-day event, The Hall placed fifth with a 40-over-par, 298-310-296-904. Dartmouth won the team title at 16-over-par for the tournament.

Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition for the event, St. John's, finished at 69-over-par.

Sophomore Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) had her best round of the tournament, using four birdies to fuel a 1-over-par, 73. For the event, she placed 17th with a 10-over-par, 75-78-73-226.Â

Only one stroke behind Sarrias Pro finished graduate student Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.). She had 13 pars on Sunday for a 5-over-par, 77. For the three-round event, Fouratt tied for 18th place with an 11-over-par, 75-75-77-227.

Junior Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) turned in her top round on Sunday. She had 14 pars on her way to a 2-over-par, 74. For the tournament, Zavagli tied for 33rd place with a 15-over-par, 79-78-74-231.

Freshman Ashni Solanki (Melbourne, Australia) rounded out the Pirates' lineup with an 11-over-par, 83, on Sunday. She finished the tournament with a 24-over-par, 77-80-83-240.

Two Pirates competing as individuals also finished up play on Sunday. Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) finished the tournament with a 25-over-par, 81-80-80-241, while Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) completed play with a 39-=over-par, 86-89-80-255.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Delaware, the field was comprised of 10 other teams including: Bucknell, Dartmouth, Delaware State, Harvard, Navy, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, William & Mary and Youngstown State. BIG EAST opponent St. John's is also in the field.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field played two continuous rounds on Saturday, and one, final round on Sunday. For Saturday's rounds, the Pirates will be paired with golfers from Delaware and Harvard with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round pairings will be determined by the golfers' Saturday performance with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
