
Pirates Roll Past UMass Lowell on Tuesday Night

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (6-1) roared out to an early start and never looked back in a 90-57 victory over UMass Lowell (2-4) n Tuesday night at Walsh Gym. Victoria Cardaci (Holmdel, N.J.) and Kaela Hilaire (Queens, N.Y.) tied for the game-high with 18 points in the win.
The Hall burst out to a huge advantage after a quarter, with Cardaci knocking down four 3-pointers in the opening frame including a deep triple with time expiring that gave the Pirates a 30-10 lead after one. The Pirates kept up their strong start with 28 more points in the second quarter to take a 58-27 lead to the half. The Hall would swell its lead to as many as 44 in the second half as it cruised to the win.
Cardaci's 18 points came on a 6-of-10 day from 3-point range and was her first double-digit scoring effort since The Hall's opening contest. Hilaire added nine assists to her 18 points, narrowly missing her first career double-double and tying her career-high for assists. For the River Hawks, Oda Shackelford led three players in double-digits with 13 points.
