
Seniors Shine in Final Home Meet

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's and women's swimming & diving team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday as the men defeated Lehigh, 154-130, and the women fell to Columbia, 175-117, at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium inside Regan Rec Center.
For the men, senior Vadim Jacobson (Arnold, Md.) won the 100 free (46.55) and took second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:43.48. Senior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) finished runner-up in the 200 free (1:42.68) and 500 free (4:41.01).
Sophomore Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) and senior Matt Zebrowski (Sayreville, N.J.) went 1-2 in the 100 breast with respective times of 58.21 and 58.41. The duo also finished 1-2 in the 200 breast with respective times of 2:07.92 and 2:10.91. Zebrowski continued his stellar Senior Day with a win in the 100 fly (50.76) that was followed by an eruption from the packed house inside Imperatore Natatorium.
Junior Ivan Michalovic (Glen Mills, Pa.) won the 200 fly with an impressive 1:54.05 – three seconds ahead of the field. Fellow junior Kyle Nash (Katy, Texas) was runner-up after touching the wall in 1:57.03.
Freshman Liam Cosgrove picked up an impressive victory in the 100 back, touching the wall in 52.47.
On the women's side, sophomore Gabrielle Van Tassell (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:37.60. She was followed by sophomore Jill Calocino (Maywood, N.J.) in third, who finished in 10:41.70.
Senior Sydney Simpson (Tallahassee, Fla.) won the 100 fly (57.76), and took second in the 100 breast after touching the wall in 1:06.31.
Freshman Lexi Kolodgie (Baltimore, Md.) continued her impressive rookie campaign with a win in the 200 breast after touching the wall in 2:23.24.
Prior to Saturday's meet, Seton Hall honored its 10 seniors: Vadim Jacobson, Michael Mattera, Courtney Regan, Kylene Ronayne, Sean Sali, Sydney Simpson, Zohar Suslovich, Cody Wimmer, Noah Yanchulis and Matt Zebrowski.
Up next, the Pirates take on BIG EAST Conference rivals Providence and Georgetown in the regular season finale at the Berkeley Aquatic Club in New Providence, N.J. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m.
