PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Seton Hall women' golf team will return to the links this weekend when it makes the short trip to Piscataway, N.J. for the 2016 Rutgers Invitational, Sept. 16-17.
Â
Tournament Details:
RUTGERS INVITATIONAL

Location:Â Piscataway, N.J.
Course:Â Rutgers Golf Course
Course Vitals:Â Par-72, 6,043 yards
Dates:Â September 16-17, 2016, Three Rounds
Â
The Course:
The Rutgers University Golf Course was founded in 1961 with the construction of the present day 18-hole layout that was expertly designed by Hal Purdy, a noted golf architect. The course was officially opened May 29, 1963. Today, the par-72 course can be stretched to 6,337 yards and features a course rating of 70.5 and a slope of 130.
Â
Over the past decade, the course has undergone extensive renovations and updates, which include a modern irrigation system, the addition of several bunkers and the planting of many trees, including a host of impressive evergreens. Once a rather wide-open tract, today's Rutgers Golf Course features a host of tree-lined holes, featuring undulating greens and water that comes into play on five holes.
Â
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Rutgers, the field is comprised of 11 other teams including: Albany, Boston University, Brown, Delaware, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Hofstra, LIU-Brooklyn, Sacred Heart and Wagner. St. John's is the lone BIG EAST competition in the field.
Â
The Lineup:
Seton Hall will bring its entire roster to compete at Rutgers. The order is below:
This will be the fifth time that Seton Hall has participated in the Rutgers Invitational, but the first time since 2013. This is also the first time that the event has expanded to three rounds. There are no current Pirates who have played this tournament in the past. The Hall had a strong performance in their last appearance in Piscataway, finishing second as a team. Former Pirate Erin McClure won the individual title with a 2-over-par, 73-73-146.
Â
Collectively, the Pirates finished five strokes behind Delaware for the team title with a 32-over-par, 302-306-608.  Seton Hall won the team title in 2012 with a 27-over-par, 299-304-603.
Â
Last Time Out:
Earlier this week, the Pirates began the fall season in impressive fashion. Pantelas fired an even-par, 72, in Monday's final round to lift the Pirates to the team championship of the William & Mary Invitational. The Hall started the day in second place, four strokes behind Richmond. Seton Hall fired the top round of the day, a 10-over-par, 298, while the Spiders shot a 314 and the Pirates cruised to a five-stroke victory. The title is the 10th tournament victory for Seton Hall since the program began in the fall of 2010.Â
Â
Pantelas notched her third career top-5 finish, ending the tournament in second place, just one stroke behind William & Mary's Katie Edelblut for the individual title. She finished the three-round event with a 7-over-par, 78-73-72-223. Newcomers Win and Sager also tallied top-10 finishes.
