Hall Falls at Xavier to Close Regular Season

CINCINNATI, OHIO - Senior Julia Keenan (Greenland, N.H.) and sophomore Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii) posted their sixth win as a doubles tandem on Sunday at Xavier but the Seton Hall tennis team fell to the Musketeers, 7-0, to close the regular season.
The Hall closes the year at 9-10 overall and 3-5 against BIG EAST foes. Xavier improved to 17-5 overall and 6-1 against league opposition in 2016 with the lone setback coming at the hands of nationally-ranked DePaul.
Keenan and Kim have been a force in the No. 2 singles slot since first playing together in mid-February and ran their collective total to an impressive five conference victories with a 6-3 win over Alex Brinker and Cristina DiLorenzo of XU.
Keenan also battled back from an opening set loss to force a third against Brinker in their fourth singles showdown but Brinker eventually claimed a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 decision.
With league wins over Villanova, Providence and Butler in hand, the Pirates will find out their opponent at next weekend's BIG EAST Championship in Cayce, S.C. on Monday. Play at the 10-team BIG EAST event is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 28 and will continue through Sunday, May 1.
