Yip, Chalk Lead Pirates to 7th Place Finish at UTEP

EL PASO, TEXAS – Junior Linus Yip (Sydney, Australia) and freshman Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) each shot a 2-under-par, 70, in Sunday's final round to help lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the 2016 Price's "Give'em Five" Invitational.

Yip and Chalk both saved the final round for their best of the tournament. Yip finished the three-round  event with a 9-over-par, 75-80-70-225, while Chalk was five strokes behind ending with a 14-over-par, 79-81-70-230.

Collectively, the Pirates had their best round of the tournament on Sunday. The Hall posted a 3-under-par, 285, in round three to place seventh in a highly competitive field. For the tournament, Seton Hall shot an 8-over-par, 287-300-285-872. UTEP won the team title at an amazing 35-under-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Marquette, finished third at 13-under-par.

Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) shot a 1-under-par, 71, on Sunday. The sophomore was the top Seton Hall finisher for the tournament with a 1-under-par, 70-74-71-215. Nagai tied for 17th among 75 individual golfers. It's the third sub-par tournament of his career, and the third in five tournaments this fall.

Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) tied for 21st overall with an even-par, 69-71-76-216.

Sophomore Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) finished the tournament with a 2-over-par, 74, on Sunday. He tied for 43rd overall with a 6-over-par, 73-75-74-222.

Freshman Alex McAuley (Douglas, Isle of Man) and senior Kevin O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.) also made the trip and competed as individuals. O'Brien finished with a 7-over-par, 78-71-74-223, while McAuley had a 15-over-par, 76-77-78-231.
