Pirate Points
- Showing outstanding depth, the men's team has had eight different runners finish in the team's top five this season, led by junior Bryant Cordova (Elizabeth, N.J.), who finished first among his teammates in two races and was third overall at both the 6K Monmouth Invitational and the 8K Embry-Riddle Asics Invitational. Cordova was the team's top finisher at the BIG EAST Championship last season.
- Senior Sean Kip (Union, N.J.) is coming on strong late in the season, earning a top-team finish at the Metropolitan Championship, which was also run at Van Cortlandt Park. He then shaved 34 seconds off his 8K time the following week at the Leopard Invitational.
- Juniors Louis Bustamante (Hamburg, N.J.) and Jake Simon (Freehold, N.J.) have been consistent, either finishing second, third or fourth among their teammates in all four meets this year.Â
- Sophomore Jarod Moser (Duncanville, Texas) is peaking at the right time; he is coming off his best run as a Pirate, finishing first among his teammates and 12th overall at the Lafayette Invitational. He was overlooked by other schools because he did a lot of his running on flat ground in the south compared to the rough terrain of the northeast.
