RESULTS
Easton, Pa. -Â Sophomore Jarod Moser (Duncanville, Texas) turned in a very strong performance for the Seton Hall men's cross country team at the Leopard Invitational, finishing 12th in the 8K race Saturday at Lafayette College. He and the Pirates came in fourth place on the day.
Moser, who clocked in at 26:48.54, became the third different Pirate to cross the finish line first among his teammates this season. He also nearly matched his best 8K race time; he was only 18 seconds off his 2015 BIG EAST Championship 8K time of 26:30.4.Â
Junior Jake Simon (Freehold, N.J.) finished second among the Hall racers, scoring for the team in all three of his races this season. He finished 23rd overall with a time of 27:09.56, his best 8K race of his career.
Junior Louis Bustamante (Hamburg, N.J.) scored for Seton Hall for the fourth time in as many races, finishing third among his teammates and 28th overall with a time of 27:17.67. He was followed by senior Sean Kip (Union, N.J.), who continues to make a strong surge towards championship season, finishing 29th overall and fourth on the team with a time of 27:18.86. Senior Cameron Quisenberry (Owingsboro, Ky.) also scored for The Hall for the fourth time in as many races as his 27:22.69 was good for fifth on the team and 33rd overall.
The race, won individually by Temple's Marc Steinsberger and as a team by Lehigh, was extremely competitive. Only two minutes separated 10th place from 62nd.
The Pirates will now train for the next two weeks in preparation for the 2016 BIG EAST Championship, to be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. The BIG EAST Digital Network will have full coverage of the races.
