SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Freshmen Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel) and David Rowe (Cherry Hill, N.J.) combined for five victories for the Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team on Friday but the Pirates saw their five-meet winning streak halted by reigning MAAC champions Rider in a 171-123 setback.
Grubert and Rowe continued their stellar debut campaigns by leading a group of four Pirates that recorded victories as sophomores Matt Zebrowski (Sayreville, N.J.) and Zohar Suslovich (Holon, Israel) added one victory apiece.
Reigning BIG EAST Male Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) chipped in two runner-up finishes while newcomers Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) and Ivan Michalovic (Glen Mills, Pa.) each recorded one.

- The first of Grubert's three wins on the evening came in convincing fashion as his 1,000-free mark of 9:41.90 was nearly 14 seconds faster than Rider's Sam Cramer in second. Grubert added a winning time of 4:40.98 in the 500-free to earn first place points and wrapped up his meet with the top 200-IM time of the evening; clocking in at 1:55.42.
- Rowe's two victories came at 100 yards with the Cherry Hill product leading all competitors in the 100-back by reaching the wall in 51.32. Classmate Chris Tucker (Middletown, N.J.) added third-place points after clocking in at 54.14. In the 100-fly, Rowe's 51.02 was one of three Pirate marks among the top-four as Zebrowski went 52.11 to take third and freshman Kyle Nash (Katy, Texas) placed fourth in 53.80 seconds
- Zebrowski, Michalovic and Nash swept the top-three spots in the 200-fly to highlight the evening for The Hall with Zebrowski clocking in at 1:53.34. Michalovic logged a time of 1:55.31 followed by Nash with a time of 1:56.44
- Michalovic (1:56.44) also took third in the 200-back but it was Suslovich who earned the top spot with a 1:53.45 mark

- The Hall also recorded two runner-up finishes in relay competition as Rowe, Suslovich, Grubert and Yanchulis teamed to post a time of 1:34.25 in the 200-medley relay while Williams, Tucker, Rowe and Zebrowski combined to record a 400-free relay time of 3:13.65

- Yanchulis finished as the runner-up in both the 100 and 200-free events with times of 47.22 and 1:41.92 respectively. Williams also contributed a second place performance in the 50-free, posting a 21.81 mark.

- Senior Eric Davidson (Overland Park, Kan.) delivered two stellar efforts from the board, scoring over 270 points from both one and three meters. Davidson earned a six-dive score of 281.85 in one meter competition and finished with a score of 271.65 from three meters

The Hall will travel to Marist next Saturday for the first of two meets in as many days. Start time between the Pirates and Red Foxes is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the following day, SHU will return to South Orange and host UConn in its final home appearance of the season (11:00 a.m.)
