Hall Opens Quad Meet at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team continued what has been a challenging early-season slate on Friday with the first day of a quad meet against BIG EAST foes Georgetown and Villanova as well as hosts Rutgers.
Nine events were held on day one with competition scheduled to conclude on Saturday. Freshman Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.) led The Hall in a pair of events and was also present on the Pirates top relay squad in each of the events that were held on the opening day.
In what is the penultimate meet of the fall, competition is slated to conclude from Rutgers on Saturday.

- Senior Megan Mallon (Glen Mills, Pa.) delivered the Pirates' top performance of the evening, clocking a time of 1:06.73 that was good enough for fourth overall in the 100-breast and second among BIG EAST competitors
- McCardle paced The Hall in the 50-free with a 24.62 mark and later came back to lead SHU with a 200-free time of 1:56.45
- Freshman Aitana Robinson (London, Ontario) was one of the top-three finishers among conference competitors in the 100-back; reaching the wall in 58.15
- Tessa Lindner (Sun Prairie, Wis.) clocked in at 2:11.76 to record the team's fastest 200-fly mark of the meet while Erica Naumann (Middletown, Conn.) again led the distance efforts with a 1,000-free time of 10:49.37
- In the 200-IM, it was sophomore Kylene Ronayne (Springfield, Pa.) who headlined the Pirates group with a 2:12.37 final time

- Robinson, Mallon, Lindner and McCardle ranked second among BIG EAST squads in the 400-medley relay with a 3:54.87 mark
- In the 200-free relay, it was McCardle, Kat Carson (Katy, Texas), Lindner and Ronayne who were fourth among conference entrants with a time of 1:39.58
