10/31/2015 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Seton Hall men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Xavier on Saturday night at XU Soccer Complex. The loss for the Pirates (0-14-1, 0-8-0 BIG EAST) came in their final road contest of the 2015 season.
The Musketeers (11-4-1, 5-2-1) got a fourth-minute goal from Calum Lathum as part of a three-point effort, and added goals from Alex Ridsdale in the 70th and 79th minutes to put the contest out of reach. XU is now 3-0-0 against The Hall in a series dating back to 2013, Xavier's first season in the BIG EAST.
Turning Point
After Brandon Barnes (Cary, Ill.) made four saves in the first 25 minutes of the second half, Xavier finally solved the Pirate keeper to double its lead. Lathum worked deep into the box and flicked a cross to the front, where Ridsdale slid inside the six to touch home his sixth goal of the season and give XU a 2-0 advantage.
