SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall head coach Sara Doell announced Friday that Jamie Greene (Troy, Mich.) has signed a national letter of intent to play women's golf at Seton Hall University.
"Jamie is a consistent player with good distance and a steady short game," Doell said. "When I had the chance to watch her compete this summer, we discussed the areas of her game that she would need to work on to get to the next level. I know that she's been working very hard on her game since then and is on a path to excellence.
Greene is coming off a recent individual win at the Michigan State Division 2 High School Championship, and in winning, guided Birmingham Seaholm High School to the team championship as well. Named to the 2014 MIGCA Girls All-State Super Team, she is a two-time All-State selection and a three-time Oakland Activities Association Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. A two-time Ali Restaino Scholar-Athlete, she was named 2013 Michigan PGA Player of the Year for girls ages 16-18 and 2014 Alexandra Lipa Varsity Most Valuable Player.
"I look to her to be a contributor next year as we continue to strive to be a power house in the BIG EAST, Doell continued. "Not only is Jamie a great player, but I know she will be a great teammate and will fit in with the culture of our team. She has a strong work ethic and is a natural leader. I'm excited to welcome Jamie and her family to ours."
