LEWISBURG, PA. - Freshman Megan Tenhundfeld (Loveland, Ohio), playing in her first collegiate tournament, led a ferocious second round comeback for the Seton Hall women's golf team which now finds itself tied for second place at the season-opening Bucknell Invitational with 18 final holes remaining.
Tenhundfeld fired a 1-over-par, 71, in Saturday's second round to help the Pirates climb from a ninth place tie following round one, to a second place tie following round two, just two strokes behind Radford for the tournament lead. Seton Hall shot a 42-over-par, 322, in round one, but bounced back with an impressive 298 later in the day. The Pirates are tied with Rutgers for second place. The Scarlet Knights shot a pair of 310's on the day while Seton Hall made its late charge.
"I am absolutely thrilled with how we played in the second round," said Head Coach Sara Doell. "This being the first tournament of the year and having two freshmen in the lineup, I think they might have been a little nervous at the start... but they relaxed and carried themselves with great confidence later in the day. I'm really excited with what tomorrow might hold."
Tenhundfeld is currently tied for the individual lead among 80 individual golfers. She is 6-over-par with a 75-71-146, tied with Boston University's Kristyna Pavlickova.
