SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall tennis team fell to Syracuse, 7-0, on Saturday. The tennis teams overall record is 5-8 for the spring season and 0-3 in BIG EAST.
In No.2 singles, sophomore Elizabeth Verow (Barnt Green, England) was looking for her first win in the BIG EAST. Unfortunately Verow was defeated by Emily Harman in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
Junior Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) suffered a loss to Eleanor Peters (6-1, 6-0) in the No. 3 singles spot. Sunbul's record in the BIG EAST conference is 1-2. Sophomore Courtney Kilarski (Roseville, Cal.) put up a fight in her second set of the match; unfortunately she lost in straight sets (6-0, 7-5) against Simone Kalhorn.
The Pirates were winless in doubles competition. Verow/Kilarski fell to Peters/Parra (8-3) in No. 2 play.
The Pirates will fight to gain their first win in the BIG EAST on Tuesday, April 6th playing Rutgers at home.
