
Seton Hall Tennis Defeats Nova Southeastern, 5-4

FT. LAUDERDALE, FLA. - Seton Hall Tennis has won their 5th straight game, defeating #24 Nova Southeastern 5-4. This improves their spring season record to 5-3.
Senior Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany), showed her experience on the court today beating Karolina Porizkova 7-5, 6-3. Liebschner struggled in the beginning of her first set down 1-4, but showed poise making a huge comeback to win in straight sets.
In No. 3 singles, Junior Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) continues to be a strong competitor for the team, winning both sets against Blake Bauer 6-4, 6-0. Freshman Karina Cordero (Maracay Estado Aragua, Venezuela) put up a hard fought match against Mary Crider. Unfortunately, Cordero fell to Crider in straight sets 7-6(3), 6-3.
Sophmore Michelle Weerasinghe (Edina, Minn.) was successful in No. 6 singles spot. Weerasinghe overtook Paige Lindsley 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets.
In doubles competition the Pirates were very effective. Coach Wyzykowski states, "Our doubles continue to play a factor in competition." Sunbul/Liebschner out performed Feaster/Porizkova beating them 8-2 in No.1 doubles.
The Pirates Tennis team will try to build on their winning streak when they play Florida Atlantic on March 12th in Boca, Fla.
