
Seton Hall Tennis Defeats Navy, 4-3

ANNAPOLIS, M.D.- After a hard fought match, the Seton Hall tennis team was able to overpower Navy 4-3, making this their third straight win of the season.
Senior Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany), has overcome her muscle strain injury from a few weeks ago and is continuing to be victorious in her matches. Liebschner won her match in straight sets against Decquir 6-4, 6-4.
Freshman Karina Cordero (Maracay Estado Aragua, Venezuela) powered past Dyuti Das 6-4,6-3 in No. 4 singles. Cordero earned her third victory of the spring season. Sophomore Michelle Weerasinghe (Edina, Minn.) improves her record to 3-3 during the spring season defeating Natalie Houle, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5 singles.
Junior Slavina Kaplanska (Sofia, Bulgaria) continues to play in the No. 6 spot, replacing Kilarski with an injury. Kaplanska fought hard, winning her second set. Unfortunately she fell short to Lindsay Olsen 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.
The Pirates powered past Navy in doubles competition, winning all three doubles matches. The closest match was No.1 doubles, Liebschner/Sunbul; luckily they were able to overcome the hard fought competition of Decquir/Das and win 8-5.
Seton Hall Women's Tennis will try to achieve their fourth straight win, as they travel to Miami, Fla. on March 9th to compete against St. Thomas.
