Seton Hall Tennis Sinks to Army, 5-2

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Seton Hall tennis team fell to Army, 5-2, on Sunday as they traveled to Lichtenburg Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y.

As Senior Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany), continues to recover from a muscle strain injury, she lost to Anne Houghton (6-1, 6-1). Sophomore Elizabeth Verow (Barnt Green, England) suffered a loss to Erin Colton (6-1, 6-1) in the No.2 singles spot.

Junior Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) was victorious in her match against Kristin Beehler, with a triumphant three set win of 3-6, 6-4, 10-7. Although she struggled in the opening set, she came back to win her next two and allowed Hall to obtain a point on the scoreboard.   

Sophmore Michelle Weerasinghe (Edina, Minn.) picked up the other singles win in the No. 6 spot, beating Paige Ford (6-4, 6-2). As well as winning a point for the Pirates, she was able to pick up her first win of the spring season.

In a competitive doubles competition, Hall was winless in their attempt.  Sunbul and Liebschner fell (8-4) to Houghton/Beehler in No.1 play. Kilarski and Verow were knocked off by Colton and Hang (8-1) in No. 2 doubles.

The Pirates will continue their drive towards victory when they travel to Jersey City, N.J. to play St. Peter's on Saturday February 27^th.
