
Sher Advances at ITA Regionals

HANOVER, N.H. - The Seton Hall tennis team began the main draw portion of play at the ITA Regionals on Saturday. Freshman Pui Wing Sher (Shui Wai, Hong Kong) is still in contention after winning her first round singles match.
Sher beat Lili Johnson from Manhattan easily, 6-0, 6-1, and will take on #14-seed Stefanie Nunic from Boston University.
Sher and her doubles partner Rocio Portela (Demetrio Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) in doubles action and advanced to the second round, avenging Tuesday's loss to the pair of Dzana Ferhatbegovic and Manuela Leme from FDU, 8-4. In the next round, the duo fell to the #3 seeds Holly Cao and Samantha Rosekrans from Harvard, 8-0.
Also in doubles, juniors Elizabeth Verow (Barnt Green, England) and Courtney Kilarski (Roseville, Calif.) dropped their first round contest, 8-5, against Kristen Chen and Linnea Enoch-Janssen from St. Peter's.
