STORRS, Conn. The Seton Hall tennis team came up short against Connecticut, 5-2, on Friday. The Pirates are now 5-9 overall and 0-5 in the BIG EAST.
Senior Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) came up with a three-set victory in No. 4 singles action, topping Emily Herb 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Classmate Courtney Kilarski (Roseville, Calif.) also was victorious in No. 6 singles in straight sets over Alexa Gregory.
Weerasinghe teamed up with Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany) in the Pirates’ No. 2 doubles competition, and came up with a 9-7 victory over the Huskies duo.
Seton Hall is back in action on March 28, at Providence.
