Tennis Heating Up on Spring Break; Takes Two Matches

ALTOMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. The Seton Hall tennis team kicked off its spring break trip with a pair of victories on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Pirates (4-6) edged Northern Illinois, 4-3, and blew away St. Joseph’s, 6-1.

Against NIU, freshman Elizabeth Verow (Barnt Green, England) gutted out a three-set victory over Lilliam Asuaje after battling an illness in No. 1 singles to highlight the match.

Seton Hall’s double’s teams got back on track against the Hawks, taking all three matches to win the doubles point. Sophomore Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) continues to impress in the No. 3 singles spot, and won her fourth straight contest.

The Pirates will be back in action on Friday, March 13 against Radford and St. Cloud to conclude their spring break trip.
