HAMDEN, C.T. - Seton Hall’s women’s tennis team ended the Quinnipiac Tournament with strong performances but came up short in the semifinal rounds.
Seton Hall’s senior, Danielle Viola (Niagara, N.Y.) lost her semifinals match to Charlie Warford of Army; 6-4, 6-4. Viola was competing in the “B” flight of singles matches.
In the “C” flight of singles matches, freshman Courtney Kilarski (Roseville, C.A.) lost her semifinals match to University of Maryland Baltimore County; 6-1, 6-1.
Sophomore Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) came up with Sunday’s only win for Seton Hall, defeating Valerie Chacon from the University of Rhode Island in the semifinal round of the “C” flight; 6-3, 6-0. Sunbul would go on to lose her next match to University of Maryland Baltimore County; 6-4, 6-3.
This was the final day of the Quinnipiac Tournament. The Pirates will continue their fall schedule at the Army Tournament in West Point, New York. The Army Tournament will take place Friday, September 26th until Sunday, September 28th.
