HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Seton Hall’s women’s tennis team began their fall season with a tournament at Hofstra University.
Representing Seton Hall with their first win of the tournament was sophomore Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey). Sunbul was in the fifth flight of the singles match and defeated Christine Tan from Manhattan; 6-0, 6-0.
Junior Denise Liebschner’s (Weinboehla, Germany) match was delayed because of rain. Liebschner was in the number one flight of singles. Liebschner was leading against Vanessa Pangikas of St. Peter’s College; 1-6, 6-3, 5-1, before the rain delay. Liebschner was short five points to win the match before the game was suspended due to the rain.
