QUEENS, N.Y. The Seton Hall women’s tennis team was topped by St. John’s, 5-2, in BIG EAST Conference action on Wednesday. The Pirates (1-4, 1-3) were able to pick up wins in No. 1 and No. 5 singles action, but were swept in doubles play.
Sophomore Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany) won a competitive match against Maria Zivicova, 6-4, 7-6. Freshman Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) earned her second win in three tries in singles, besting Ashley Harper, 6-2, 6-0.
Seton Hall returns to action on Friday, March 14 at West Virginia for a dual match slated for 5:00 p.m.
