HAMDEN, Conn. - The Seton Hall tennis team wrapped up a weekend of play at the Quinnipiac Invitational. Junior Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) and sophomore Nathalie Ranger (Oakville, Ontario) were the only Pirates in action on Sunday.
Ranger won a hard fought semifinal match against Army's Maria Caseletto in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 10-8). In the finals, she faced another Black Knight, Jurelle Mendoza, but did not see the same success. Mendoza topped Ranger, 6-1, 6-0.
Viola dropped her match against UMBC's Pacaline Lette in straight sets (6-1, 6-0).
The Pirates return to action at Columbia on Oct. 12 for a dual match.
