
Tennis Continues Play at Eastern Collegiate Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Seton Hall tennis team continued play at the Eastern Intercollegiate Championships. All of the Pirates' competitors were eliminated from their respective consolation brackets on Saturday, but will play in back draw brackets on Sunday.
Senior Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had the most success in the No. 3 singles consolation bracket. She defeated Howard's Michelle Gee (8-6) to reach the semifinals, but dropped her second match of the day to Michelle Alquero of Army (8-4).
In doubles action, the pair of sophomore Alexandra Harvey and junior Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) also reached the semifinals of the No. 1 consolation bracket after defeating FDU's JInny DeCarlos and Ciara Smith (8-3). Harvey and Viola did not get the same luck in their final four match with Duquesne's Andrea Saller and Kristen Swenson, falling 8-5 in that contest.
Senior Nadja Sein (Tallinn, Estonia) dropped her quarterfinal consolation match to Colgate's Sam Inacker (8-6).
The Pirates will compete at the Quinnipiac Invitational from Sept. 21-23.
