
Women's Tennis Suffers a 4-3 Setback to DePaul

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team fell to DePaul, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates have lost three straight after winning four in a row. Seton Hall took two of seven singles contests and the doubles point, but still suffered the defeat.
Senior Iva Gyurgina (Radomir, Bulgaria) was the only Pirate to earn a victory in singles play, defeating Clare Chmiel in straight sets. Seton Hall also won the No. 6 singles match by default.
The regular pairs of Nadja Sein (Tallinn, Estonia) and Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) and Gyurgina and Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were put back together and earned victories to take the doubles point.
The Pirates return to action on Thursday, Apr. 12, against Villanova in South Orange. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
