
Women's Tennis Places Ninth at BIG EAST Championship

TAMPA, Fla. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team placed ninth at the BIG EAST Championship after defeating West Virginia, 4-3, on Saturday. The Pirates split the singles portion of the competition, but won took the doubles point to close their season with a victory.
In the deciding match, junior Nadja Sein (Tallinn, Estonia) dropped the first set but controlled Monica Lyskawa in the final two to seal the Hall's win.
Seniors Sylvia Jaros (Scarborough, Ontario) and Iva Gyurgina (Radomir, Bulgaria) were also winners in straight sets in their final matches at Seton Hall.
In doubles competition, Jaros and Sein took care of Natalie Prinza in and Stacey Percival, 8-5. The pair of Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) and Ebru Burduroglu (Istanbul, Turkey) won their match, 8-5, as well.
