
Women's Tennis Continues Strong Play; Tops Rutgers, 4-3

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team squeaked by Rutgers, 4-3, on Friday. The win improved the Pirates to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the BIG EAST. Seton Hall won four of six singles matches and held on to win the match after dropping the doubles point.
Junior Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) lost her first set to Anela Dujsic, 6-7 (4), but went on to win the second, 7-6 (2) after forcing a tie-break. El-Tobgy carried the momentum into the third set as she won the match.
Junior Nadja Sein (Tallinn, Estonia) also dropped the first set in a tie-break, but coasted in the second and third sets to earn the victory. Sophomore Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) continued the trend of three-set matches, defeating Lauren Edelschein, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
Senior Iva Gyurgina (Radomir, Bulgaria) had the easiest time winning for the Pirates, beating Christine Tran, 6-0, 6-1.
The pair of Sylvia Jaros (Scarborough, Ontario) and Sein were the only doubles team to earn a win for Seton Hall.
The Pirates return to action against Marquette on Saturday, Mar. 30.
