
Women's Tennis Drops Match to Nova Southeastern

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team suffered its second loss of the spring season against Division II Nova Southeastern, 6-3. The Pirates are now 4-2 in the spring season. The Sharks are ranked No. 17 in the country and the match used Division II scoring rules.
Senior Iva Gyurgina (Radomir, Bulgaria) was the only singles player to win for the Pirates, defeating Stephanie Zevallos in straight sets.
Seton Hall did win 2-of-3 singles matches, as the pair of Veronika Gerka (Edmonton, Alberta) and Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) won 8-3. Gyurgina and junior Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were also victorious, 9-7.
The Pirates are slated to open up BIG EAST play at West Virginia on Sunday, Mar. 18, at 10:00 a.m.
