
Women's Tennis Sweeps LIU, 7-0

The most competitive match of the day featured junior Nadja Sein vs. Merve Koksal. Sein took the first set, 6-4, but Koksal came back to take the second set, 5-7. In the deciding frame, Sein sealed the win, 6-4.
In other singles action, senior Ebru Burduroglu bounced back from dropping the second set, 0-6, to defeat H’Ann Johnson (6-2, 0-6, 6-4). Junior Amanda El-Tobgy struggled in the first set of her match against Ashley Harvey, but won the final two to go on for the victory (2-6, 6-4, 7-5). Seniors Sylvia Jaros and Iva Gyurgina both won their matches in straight sets.
The pairs of Sein and Jaros and Gyurgina and El-Tobgy both cruised to victories to give the Pirates the doubles point.
