
Women's Tennis Downed By Columbia, 7-0

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team was swept by Columbia on Friday, Oct. 12. The Pirates only mustered a win in second doubles action in the dual match.
The pair of seniors Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Nadja Shein (Tallinn, Estonia) defeated Nina suda and Natalia Christenson, 8-2, for the lone victory.
Junior Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) and Shein had the most competitive singles matches on the day. In the No. 2 position, Viola lost to Suda in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4)), while Shein won her first set, 6-2, but fell 6-3 and 6-1 in the final to frames in No. 4 action.
The Pirates close out their fall season at the ITA Regionals on Oct. 19-23 in Norfolk, Va.
