Women's Tennis Swept by Boston University

BOSTON, Mass. – The Seton Hall women’s tennis team was swept by Boston University in the Track and Tennis Center on Saturday. The match was the Pirates’ final action of the fall season. With the loss Seton Hall’s duel match record now stands at 1-2, and with the win, the Terriers improve to 1-0.
Seton Hall struggled in the loss, only winning one set as a team during singles play. Two of the Pirates’ most competitive matches came in No. 1 singles, when senior Viviana Figueroa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) fell to Erin Katims, 6-3, 6-1, an in the No. 4 singles matchup between Sylvia Jaros (Scarborough, Ontario) and Danielle Abraham, which Abraham won, 6-2, 6-4.
Coming off of a strong showing in the Dartmouth Invitational Tournament last weekend, freshman Danielle Viola (Niagara Fall, N.Y.) lost her No. 3 singles contest, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Jennifer Seide (Hyde Park, Mass.) was the only Pirate to take a set, but she lost to Laura Stiekema, 7-5, 4-6 (10-8).
Seton Hall’s next action will come when it travels to West Point, N.Y., to kick off its spring season with a dual match against Binghamton on Feb.3 at 4:00 p.m.
