Pirates Earn 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Award, Three Named to Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Seton Hall men's basketball team has been named a recipient of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2025-26 season, the organization announced Wednesday. Additionally, three Pirates were named to the NABC Honors Court.

Seton Hall is one of three BIG EAST teams to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award, joining Butler and Marquette. As a team, the Pirates posted a 3.038 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men's basketball programs that completed the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Individually, a trio of Pirates earned the NABC Honors Court distinction: Jacob Dar, David Gabriel and Patrick Suemnick. Gabriel, who finished his four-year career as a student-athlete at Seton Hall this past spring, earns an NABC Honors Court award for the second straight year. This award honors any junior, senior or graduate student men's basketball player who finished the 2025-26 year with at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Under Head Coach Shaheen Holloway, the Pirates have earned four NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards. In total, 17 student-athletes coached by Holloway have been named to the NABC Honors Court.
