Aguilar Nets Third Golfer of the Week Honor this Year

NEW YORK – For the third time this year, Seton Hall sophomore Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week on Thursday.

It's already the sixth time in her young career that she's received the weekly recognition.

For the fourth time in her young career, Aguilar took home an individual tournament title. The sophomore earned a share of the Rutgers Invitational last weekend and helped lead the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fifth-place finish. Aguilar closed the tournament with two birdies and 14 pars for a 1-over-par, 72, in round three. For the tournament, she tied Penn's Mi Li for the title with a 6-over-par, 71-76-72-219. It's Aguilar's second title this spring and fourth of her career, two more than any other women's golfer in Seton Hall history.

Aguilar and the rest of the Pirates will return to the course for the marquee event on the calendar, the BIG EAST Championship, April 25-27, at Callwassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C.
