KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seton Hall men's basketball head coach Shaheen Holloway has been named Mid-Atlantic District Co-Coach of the Year and junior guard Budd Clark has been named First Team All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Holloway, who was unanimously named BIG EAST Coach of the Year last week, shared the NABC honor with Steve Donahue (Saint Joseph's) and James Jones (Yale). The fourth-year coach of the Pirates engineered the greatest turnaround in program history, and the second-best win improvement of any team in the nation this season. After a seven-win campaign in 2024-25, the Pirates accumulated 21 victories this season, and finished in the top-five in the BIG EAST for the ninth time in the last 11 seasons. Holloway's Pirates were picked to finish last in the conference before the season, however his team jolted out to a 14-2 start for the first time since 2017-18 and eventually reached the program's first BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals since 2021.
Clark quickly emerged as one of the top point guards in the BIG EAST after transferring in from Merrimack prior to the season. The All-BIG EAST Second Team and All-BIG EAST Defensive Team selection was the general for this Seton Hall team, leading the squad with 12.7 ppg and 4.9 apg. This season, Clark became the first Pirate to average at least 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in their first season with the program since Holloway did so in his freshman season of 1996-97.
