Aguilar Shines on Space Coast Classic Day One
2/21/2026 5:55:00 PM | Women's Golf
MELBOURNE, FLA. – Sophomore Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) is 7-under-par and in second place to lead the Seton Hall women's golf team in the first competition day of the spring season at the Space Coast Classic on Saturday.
Â
Aguilar had a brilliant Saturday, shooting a perfect opening round with four birdies and 14 pars in route to a 4-under-par, 68. In the afternoon, she suffered her first two blemishes of the season, bogeys on holes 16 and 17, but had three birdies and 11 pars for a 3-under-par, 69. After 36 holes, Aguilar is in second place among 78 individual golfers, just one stroke behind Notre Dame's Alexsandra Lapple with a 7-under-par, 68-69-137.
Â
With two sub-par rounds today, she now has eight for her career, which already ranks third-most in Seton Hall history despite her career being only 16 tournaments old. At 7-under-par, she's poised for her first career sub-par tournament, and has a chance to shoot the lowest tournament score in program history. Former Pirate Sarah Fouratt shot a 6-under-par, 210, at the Pirate Collegiate Classic, Oct. 10-11, 2022.
Â
As a team, The Hall shot its best single round of the 2025-26 academic year with a 4-over-par, 292. It's the lowest round since shooting an even-par, 288, in the second round also at the Pirate Collegiate Classic.
Â
The Hall shot a 16-over-par in the second round and enters Sunday's final round at 20-over-par with a 292-304-596. Seton Hall is in seventh place and trails the team leader, Dartmouth, by 16 strokes. Fellow BIG EAST member, St. John's, is currently in ninth place at 30-over-par.
Â
Junior Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) had three birdies, only one bogey and 14 pars in round one for a career-best 2-under-par, 70. In round two, she had two more birdies in route to a 6-over-par, 78. For the tournament, she's tied for 22nd place with a 4-over-par, 70-78-148.
Â
Freshman Isabella Stewart (Wicklow, Ireland) shot the best round in her young career in the morning. She had two birdies and 14 pars in route to a 1-over-par, 73. In the afternoon, she carded a 7-over-par, 79. After two rounds, Stewart is 8-over-par with a 73-79-152.
Â
Senior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) is 15-over-par for the tournament with an 81-78-159, while junior Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) is 21-over-par with an 83-82-165.
Â
Senior Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia), playing as an individual, shot an 8-over-par, 80, in the opening round.

THE COURSE:
Upon visiting Duran Golf Club, golfers will find rolling terrain — characteristic of a links-style layout — accompanied by mild mounding around the large, undulating greens; sparkling lakes and ponds; sweeping doglegs; native landscaping; grasses and palm trees. Duran is located near the Atlantic Ocean, so the coastal breezes can add great variety to your game here. The par fives can be stout three-shot tests or tempting "go-in-two" holes.  Any golf course can say that it is unique or plays to every skill level, but Duran Golf Club has definitely set itself apart in its ability to appeal to the very talented golfer, as well as the shorter hitters or those still developing their game. Players at Duran are always amazed at the loving care and attention we give to our greens that putt fast and true. You'll also love the quality of our tees, fairways and roughs.
Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Columbia, the field includes 11 other schools: Albany, Dartmouth, Duquesne, Emory, Holy Cross, Lipscomb, Notre Dame, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart. Fellow BIG EAST competitor, St. John's, is also in the field.Â
